The fifth piece of the Armor of God is the Helmet of Salvation. In physical battle, the helmet protects the head which serves as the command center of the entire body. If we suffer a head injury, our ability to effectively engage in battle is greatly diminished. In spiritual battle, the helmet of salvation guards our minds from the deadly lies and selfish ambition that are used against us by the devil. When we take and wear the helmet of salvation, the tide of the battle is shifted in our favor. We discover that the battle is not ours, it is the Lord.
