Jesus’ command to “love your enemies” is among the most revolutionary and challenging teachings in all of Scripture. It cuts against our natural impulses and unveils the radical, counter-cultural nature of the Kingdom of God. This is not a love we can manufacture on our own. Only the love of God—freely given and poured into us through Christ—has the power to transform we who were once enemies of God into beloved children of the Father.
