Promise in Pain & Suffering
October 6, 2024 |
Isaiah 58:1-12 NLT
When pain comes crashing in, even in the form of a literal hurricane bringing floods and landslides, the suffering of our neighbors must not be ignored. Through it, we can hear God shouting, as through a megaphone, rousing us to respond. While we often want to know why such tragedies happen, God seems more interested in telling us what can happen next, as we hear His voice and answer His call to be His Church – His People – His Body in the world for such a time as this. If we will trust and obey God in engaging pain and suffering according to His ways, God promises to meet us in it and lead us through it.
