Keeping (remembering; practicing) the Sabbath is a gift God invites us to receive and practice on a regular basis. Taking one day a week to rest from our work is meant to regularly remind us God is our source, and not we ourselves (Ps. 100). Our rest, worship, and fellowship on the sabbath serve as a sign unto God that we trust in His provision, are grateful for His goodness, and choose to rest in His steadfast love.
