The term Beloved is used multiple times by John in his first letter. As he writes about the importance of living and growing in love throughout this letter, he reminds us of the truth that we are beloved by God. God imparts to us the same type of love that was expressed to His Beloved Son, Jesus Christ. John says that this divine love is perfected among us as we live in community with each other.
