In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus reminds us that motives matter to God. Our culture often praises generosity, visibility, and status. But Jesus warns against doing good things like giving to those in need in order to be seen. Instead, He counter-culturally invites us to live for the reward only our Heavenly Father can give.
