Series: The Ten Commandments
You Must Not Covet
August 30, 2026 |
Exodus 20:1-17; Genesis 3:1-6; Psalm 23
The tenth commandment tells us not to covet what belongs to our neighbor. To covet is to desire something we don’t have and seek to acquire it. Desire itself is good when we desire the right things and pursue them in the right ways. But God knows the damage that comes when our desires are misplaced and pursued wrongly. That’s why we need to learn what is truly good according to God and trust that our deepest desires will ultimately be satisfied in Him.
