On this Second Sunday of Advent, we hear the voice of John the Baptist anew, crying out in the wilderness: “Repent! For the Kingdom of God is at hand!” Preparing room in our hearts for the Kingdom of God requires repentance. Preparing room in our hearts for the peace of Christ requires repentance. So what is repentance and why is it so necessary if we are to receive God, His Kingdom, and the peace He offers us through Christ alone?
