The Real Enemy

Ephesians 6:10-12
Images of knights in shining armor, soldiers in tactical gear, or even a young shepherd boy named David wearing the heavy armor of King Saul fill our imaginations when we talk about the Armor of God. The armor looks different in each example, but its purpose is the same. It is worn to protect against the weapons and methods of the enemy. Before Paul begins to describe the Armor of God in Ephesians 6, he tells us about our enemy. Notice that he tells us who the enemy is not before we discover the enemy’s true identity. This is important because the type of armor that is worn into battle is determined by the type of enemy that you will face on battlefield. It is vital for us to know the Real Enemy that we face in life.
