Series: The Ten Commandments
Remember the Sabbath
June 21, 2026 |
Exodus 20:1-11; Mark 2;23-28; Matthew 11:28-30
The fourth commandment calls God’s people to recognize rhythms of rest as holy opportunities to remember we are not our own source of provision, purpose, value, or life. God is our ultimate source for all these elements of our existence. The goal of observing the Sabbath and keeping it holy is not to check off a religious box. The goal is to be deeply formed by God into the kind of people who can rest and trust in God’s care as we share in God’s life together through Christ.
