As the One who gives, sustains, restores, and transforms life, God intends His people to not only receive life from Him, but to participate in protecting and enhancing life with Him. This is why God’s commandment against killing is about much more than prohibiting the taking of human life. It is about forming a healthy community which values and prioritizes life as much as God does.
